It’s more than chasing PB’s and bragging rights, but more about that first sunrise, the smell of the coffee brewing on the fire, the time spend with friends and making new ones, admiring nature and getting closer to your Maker. For me its more than a sport, it’s a lifestyle with benefits.

I’m predominantly a particle angler, and incorporate boilies into my feeding approach. My tackle and feed are based on what I feel comfortable with and have confidence in giving me the results I set myself.

Fishing approach: Less is more, so don’t over think it. Confidence is your best weapon.

In 2008 Louis started fishing Buffelspoort dam and when thru a major learning curve with the assistance of his friend Roger Bracegirdle, Roger is a legend in his own right. Roger was the inspiration that Louis needed to take his angling to the next level.

In the first year with Roger, Louis broke his pb 3 times with a 16.24kg from Dooringdraai dam, 16.4kg from Buffelspoort dam and a 18.64kg from Buffelspoort dam.

In the same manner that Louis was shown the correct manner of doung specimen angling, Louis has shown othe newbies to the sport

Louis has taken it apon himself, to grow the sport in a positive manner and to teaching all new commer to specimen angling, the correct way of doing the sport.

In the process of teaching newbies, Specimen Politics were established in 2012 and has help hundreds of newbies. Louis has also assist intermediate and advanced anglers in progressing in their personal careers.

In 2016 Louis had the privilege of representing South African in the World Carp Master in France.

For me carpfishing is not just about catching the biggest fish possible. It’s all about the experience, from fishing small park-lakes to expansive wild-waters.

My approach is similar across all fishing situations; look for some structure or variations in depth around likely looking areas. Check to see if the bottom is clean and firm enough to present a rig. Apply some bait and let the carp do their thing.

Been Fishing since i was a little boy spending weekends at the dam with my Brother and Dad and the love for fishing just grew to where it is now..

I absolutely love my Carp Fishing and being able to have a career in fishing is just such a pleasure…

I love intimate challenging waters such as Lapa specimen camp where the carp are few and extremely hard to fool.
Boilies pellets and pop ups are my go to baits everywhere, no questions asked.
I hate it when people say that small water fishing is like fishing in a barrel when it can be the most challenging, that and blunt hooks.

Lunker and and Psycho baits that I never leave home without are psycho original and krill boilies as well as Power pellets! I’ll rather go without water for a week that fish without power pellets.

Lunker liquids that I swear by are crustacean oil, hybrid fish oil and peanut crème. Hemp oil and tiger nut extract are always nearby depending on the venue

I have been fishing for most of my life and entered the specimen scene about 7 years ago, but my career took a jump when I started fishing with Louis Britz about 2 years ago. From then on I’ve been at the water’s edge every possible moment in time I could afford to lose.I see every opportunity on the bank as a learning experience to better myself as a specimen angler and this attitude has landed me a multitude of big fish and hopefully, a lot more biggens to come.
